You may or may not be aware that for some time now Col Charles Halt and Gary hesletine (Prufos) have been working together. I received this e mail today after speaking with Gary yesterday at the Leeds Exopolitics conference.

This is the press release statement.

PRESS RELEASE

COLONEL CHARLES HALT
(RET) AND THE RENDLESHAM FOREST UFO INCIDENT

I wish to announce that for the last 19 months I have been writing a feature
length film script in collaboration with Colonel Charles Halt (Ret) based on the events that occurred during the Christmas period 1980 at the United States Air Force twin base complex of RAF BENTWATERS and WOODBRIDGE where he served as the Deputy Base Commander.

Our collaboration began in December 2007 after a chance meeting while working on a documentary programme about those events that have becomecollectively known as ‘the Rendlesham Forest incident’ and regarded by many as the most important UFO case since the Roswell incident in 1947.

Initially I spent four months reviewing all the known material beforeapproaching the Colonel with a long list of questions about his involvement and his thoughts about what happened to some of the witnesses afterwards.

I believe the resultant script contains the most accurate timeline yet produced and Colonel Halt fully endorses its content that is based on his personal involvement in the proceedings, the known events involving other witnesses and on his genuine belief that several of the military witnesses were the victims of psychological manipulation after their respective sightings.

The script will leave no-one in doubt as to the merits of those events that occurred over
several nights in December 1980.

Colonel Halt wishes to make the following statement,
“I wish to make it perfectly clear that the UFOs I saw were structured machines moving under intelligent control and operating beyond the realm of anything I have ever seen before or since. I believe the objects that I saw at close quarter were extraterrestrial in origin and that the security services of both the United States and England were and have been complicit in trying to subvert the significance of what occurred at Rendlesham by use of well practiced methods of disinformation.

I believe Gary’s script will lift a veil of secrecy about what really happened at Rendlesham, events that were and still are of tremendous defense significance tothe United Kingdom and indeed the rest of the world.”

Well this is really interesting, and if true would be amazing.
The only caution I would add --- would be -- can you trust him?
Having said that Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell says ufos are real and also the guy from Roswell later on in life said it really was Alien life and not weather balloons.
All I would caution is look behind what is happening before rushing to judgement for example think about this as a scenario.
Halt is paid to cover up the top secret recovery of an item in Rendlesham Forest, it might be DU rounds, A radar reflective test pod etc. The story is linked to UFOs as this devalues it automatically. A few years later on the US Goverment starts bringing in the first stealth fighters into the UK ( Dark triangular aircraft), so use the Rendlesham forest incident to cover this up as well.... hey why not? more spin for your buck.

Blasting off from Norfolk or Suffolk--- your straight over the North Sea, so cant be seen easlily. An f15 Eagle could acheive 60,000 ft in about a minute and a half from take off 30 yrs where you could not see it. So a modern hyper sonic aircarft would be gone from view in take off in seconds.

Well I can confirm the press release, at least, is genuine, some astronomers received it on Friday. As with anything Rendlesham based it ended up diverting to my desk.

I agree with you John. Deep Purple, I trust Gary absolutely. He isn't prone to flights of fancy and certainly isn't interested in anything but the truth, he is a police officer after all. As for Halt, he is the highest ranking officer involved in the incident and has had his reasons for not coming forward before now and I think we should all be pleased that he has. This announcement also vindicates Larry which is a very important factor after all the hassle it has caused him. As for the suggestion that Halt is being paid to sustain the cover up, well I'm sorry and I don't mean to be disrespectful but thats a joke, it's also a good way to discredit a vlauable witness with an ad hominem type of argument. At the end of the day how can sceptical debate answer a scientific question? Both parties cannot be right, someone has to be wrong and I believe the sceptical arguments put forward in this case are based totally on a false premise. First hand eye witness account is of paramount importance and yes an alternative explanation can be found but that doesn't make it correct.

Never mind unidentified flying objects are real.. alien vehicles controlled by an extre terrestrial intelligence are real. The evidence is overwhelming even without having your own encounter or sighting. The amount of credible witnesses.. scientists and world leaders who have come forward to testify to this... are they all paid to lie too? There's just so much to it I could be writing for the rest of my life trying to convince the unconvincable

The research I have done into Rendlesham has led me to believe that whatever did happen was ETI. The incidents that have happend in the area prior to this incident and also subsequent sightings since the base has closed all points in this direction. I have heard some extremely good alternative theories but there are elements to them that in the end just do not add up. I have stayed in the area and spoken to the locals at length and their recollections intrigue me the most. I spoke to Gary on Saturday and told him some of the information I have been given and he is interested enough to come to my house to talk about it further. There's still a lot of groundwork to be done yet tying it all together in a cogent manner but I think one day we will be able to reach a difinitive conclusion.

I have a book Deeppurple.. it's of released information regarding ufos seen by military personell and these go back to the 40's. I have read this thoroughly and have even included some of the infomation in articles I have written. These events happend nearly 60 years ago and the technology and the manouvreability is insane. If we say that we are seeing technology that has been around for 25- 20 even 30 years all of this would be common technology that we would be using now. We are not and thats because it isn't ours. We do not have that kind of technology no matter how sneaky or clever people think the military are, it's all flattery. I'm sure they would love us to think it's them and they have those capabilites but thats laughable, in comparison to the ET Technology we are still walking around in animal skins holding wooden clubs.

I for one think this is a valuable step forward.

Very well put Sacha. I'm glad that somebody has openly expressed their belief in the ETI hypothesis for the Rendlesham Forest Incident with such conviction. I've expressed the same opinion before on this forum and I feel that from the first-hand testimonies of the key witnesses involved, it's ludicrous NOT to consider this hypothesis as at the very least, a strong contender. Forget lighthouses, lunar modules and Russian satelites. I believe what the witnesses have to say about their experiences 100% and so far none of the 'manmade' theories have provided any sort of adequate explanation, not in my humble opinion anyway!

I don't know if everybody else feels the same, but it seems to me as if there's a renewed momentum and sense of progress with this case at the moment. I haven't made a posting on here for ages, but have been watching things unfold with great excitement recently. I for one really hope that this film gets made! The general public need to wake up to this incident, they also need to stop poking fun at UFOs and 'little green men', and start considering this very serious and important subject - and the greater implications it has for humanity!

I hate to say this but I think it is useful for someone to play Devil's Advocate in this case.
Remember if you go to get items published by mainstream press then can be far more bruising than I ever would!
As for people in positions of power not telling lies/ milking the system---- look no further than our lovely MPs and leaders of Banks!
Look a little further and think about the number of high profile criminal cases that get quashed by the court of appeal---- people do make mistakes and bark up wrong trees!

Think perhaps further and there are varying stories about what went on at Rendlesham, so somebody must be either wrong and mistinterperated what they saw--- without even accusing people of deliberatly lying.

And how do we value our witnesses? does what Halt said suddenly become more beleivable than Larry Warren or our valuable forum member John Burroughs? ( cheers John for your regular help and support)

Hi vortex, thanks for your remarks. Nice to know I'm not on my own in my thinking.

Deeppurple, with the greatest respect, I have remained objective. I consider myself to be fairly sensible when it comes to research and please understand I dismiss almost everything after looking at whatever the incident might be. I'm aware of all the possibilities, the cold war issues, the satelittes, ejector pods etc etc etc.... as for alighthouse pogo-ing through the forest, thats hysterical.

I'm not basing my conclusions.. nor have I fully come to any... All I am saying is that a false ET hypothesis is a ridiculous way to distract attention from anything else that could have happened. If anything it's going to attract MORE attention. In fact I'm already becoming tired of the debate, I believe the witnesses. I am a witness myself to something so incredible I still can hardly believe it after 12 years, never the less it happened. If I hadn't have seen it with my own eyes then I wouldn't have believed it either but when you KNOW there are AV's in/on/around out planet you can actually allow yourself to believe sometimes something of this magnitude really does happen.

Bawdry wasn't too far away and they were experimenting with radar, this could have attracted them or even interfered with theiry systems. And Ian Ridpaths suggestion that they would be too far advanced to crash is pathetic... how does he KNOW that? another false premise argument based on a massive assumption. As ufologists we cannot assume anything we are asked to back up every little detail and are often asked for proof that we are not privy to but any sceptic can make a remark like that and it's accepted because for most the truth is too massive for their tiny intellects to comprehend. ok.. maybe thats a bit harsh but sceptics will find an alternative explanation and peddle it as a fact when they cannot prove others are wrong, either way it's a stalemate. The sceptics VS believers/knowers debate is a false dichotomy. What would they do without us? What would we do without them? carry on as usual.

I have gone back to the beginning of this thread and am steadily reading through all that has been written. I'm really pleased I found this forum, at least now I can 'hear' the information from the horses nouth. Obviously some of the posts are very negative and I don't wnder why the forum has gone quiet.

Well said Sacha,Ive been coming on and off this forum for sometime and read most of the threads,there are indeed some outlandish counter theorys but they never meet the eyewitnesses accounts,the people who were actually there,the counter explanations are even more bizzare than the actual events.
After reading Charles Halts press release I wasnt altogether surprised but Im chuffed to bits he has said this and it might encourage other witnesses to say more.
I absolutely believe and always have that Larry and others saw entities that were non human,the sceptics and debunkers never deal with that aspect.
The only other theory Ive personally entertained is that this was a time travel event,I dont rule it out but lean more towards E.T especially given the lies the populations of the world have been told for 60 plus years about the ufo subject,the cover up is very easy to prove but its totally pointless debating with debunkers,they have already made their minds up long ago.
I know Gary personally,he doesnt suffer fools gladly and Im certain that a film will be made one day given his efforts and liason with Colonel Halt,I do believe that the film rights for Larrys book were sorted out years ago but we will have to see on that one.
If you read this John,Sacha met some interesting locals some time ago who recall the events all those years ago,their story is fascinating,Im sure Sacha will add more sometime.

OK where's the real proof of ET?
Empty statements attached to a wish list mean nothing.
Rendlesham maybe be the proof of ET, but it really does need to take the acid test which none of you seem to want to apply. Why? Whats your problem. LaLa land is nice but its not real.
Consider this in every murder case there are people telling the truth and liars, so why would this be any different given that people are making money out of UFOs, something is being covered up.
It suits your wish list that it may be ET, but this may not be the truth. I keep a skeptical mind, if you cant pass the test of simple skeptics like me then you are not credible.
If I saw the right evidence I would beleive in ET.
All i see with Rendlesham is a cover up of something happening, with perhaps some of the witnesses being truly disoriented and others well...........
Gary might be a really nice guy and true as the day is long---- but if he is being fed disinformation he will struggle to tell whats is truth and what is fiction.
Evidence needs to be sifted, evaluated according to source.

This event could be caused by ET or something else
We dont know but I suspect somebody somewhere does.
Another problem is what are the military really covering up? It may be ET--- but maybe not.
The military would be happy to use a good ufo story to cover up a military accident or weapons test ( like a pysch ops device).
Look back at Roswell--- did anything really come of this?
Rumour and counter Rumour--- secret UFO parts, Aliens etc.
Following the US Defence Departments spending is revealing--- where did the spend their money---- Alien Spacecraft? No but Billions got spent on the F22 Raptor, Smart Weapons etc. If we had Alien technology we wouldnt spend Billions on the Raptor. Like wise it was 40 yrs ago man walked on the moon, and we havent been back for a very long time, even the space shuttle is dated. IF we had Alien technology surely we would start seeing some glimpses now of it in Military or Space Exploration?
IN reality it needs Halt's bosses to tell us what really happened-- they will know
